Judgment Review! Basically Batman in Japan? (Ps4)

Sometimes a spin off manages to be even better than the main series itself and HERE is a great explain of that. Lets dive into this side story in the Yakuza franchise to see if Judgment stands perfectly on it’s own as you play as Japanese batman!

Judgment[a] is an action-adventure video game developed and published by Sega for the PlayStation 4. Initially developed under the codename Project Judge, the game is a spin-off of the Yakuza series. The game was released on December 13, 2018 in Japan and set for a worldwide release in June 2019. It stars Japanese actor Takuya Kimura.

In March 2019, it was pulled from sales in Japan following the arrest of one of the game’s actors, Pierre Taki. During the process of localizing Judgment for international markets, additional work was performed to remove Taki’s likeness from the game and to replace his vocal performance.

  2. I do not understand why IGN gives low scores to games which are considered MASTERPIECE! First 10 out of 10 in my whole watching experience of this channel, the first perfect score dreamcast guy gave to a game.

  3. Wow I love the Yakuza games, but I never heard anything that good about this game. It does seem really good by the way this guy presented, just kinda surprised I guess. Maybe I'll try it someday after all.

  4. The game is very very flawed. And I’m surprised this is your game of the year. Resident Evil 2 remake is mine and it’s going to take game of the year no problem

  5. I went out and bought the game after seeing this review. Right now I'm about 42 hours in and I fucking love it! my god the story is so compelling and the writing is so damn good. Every single character is fleshed out and feels so real. Yagami is so relatable and Kaito is the best side kick ever. My only complaint is that the tailing missions can drag on for a bit. But aside from that one complaint, this game is a masterpiece. This game is so good that I went out and bought all of the Yakuza games. I can't wait to see how the story concludes and to play their previous games.

  6. If you have a PS4 definitely buy Judgment, it's well worth the price of admission. Story's good, characters are compelling and likable, and the world's big enough to feel alive, but not too big so you can still follow the core narrative.

  7. This game is LONG AS HELL if you don't just follow the story only……there's 50 side quests, 50 friend quests which are also basically side quests, 4 girlfriends to fuck with, like 12 mini games half of them are new. The 2 fighting styles are both extremely fun, and WAY better than the old fighting styles, kungfu is the shit lol. THIS STORY IS AWESOME, and very well told. Not once was I bored playing the story missions, and side missions, 87 is the full amount of story missions, but there's several parts to one mission that can last like an hour each. So it's way more than it sounds, you can easily spend 40 hours or more on this game. The noir style gameplay such as searching for evidence or tailing someone are NOT boring, they're repetitive but I felt it wasn't ever to the point that it was annoying….the tailing has some badass music playing in the background while you stalk and find clues about what the person does. ENGLISH VOICE ACTING IS AMAZING, I suggest playing both with the Japanese and English just to appreciate how well both are.

  8. I rarely preorder but after playing Yakuza 0 on PC and then playing other Yakuza games this was an instant preorder for me. What’s better still is I completely forgot the release date and see it’s due to be delivered tomorrow! Just what I needed. Can’t wait to play. I’ll certainly buy it again when it is released on PC too.

  9. No spoilers please but have you tried the English dub yet? and if you have, is it good? (i'm playing it in Japanese first, i'm just wondering)

  10. Just ordered it and downloading in the background. I’ve seen several reviews by now; everyone seems to pretty much love this game, despite minor flaws. Side note – the hero looks a lot like an ex-BF of mine, so that’ll be a little weird… anyway, looking forward to It!

  11. Hey Dreamcastguy, thanks for your extremely good review. I've been following you for quite some time now. Have to say you have become a great reviewer imho. Only question have about the game. Can you change outfits? You got me excited for this one!

  12. 1. How is possible that you make reviews first than any other gaming channel?
    2. Interesting game, but the combat look really awful. You hit the air like the 80% of the time and enemies just stare at you. It look like a button mashing and doesn't look challenging at all.

  13. GoTY when Sekiro, RES2 and DMC5 have come out?
    Bro you are trippin lol
I played it, its a solid game. Its not GoTY material

  14. Looks amazing. I always wanted a detective, real world game like this. I know people want Gotham to be populated in the next Batman game and I agree. But Batman shouldn’t be swooping down in the middle of crowded streets, he needs to stay in the shadows.

  15. Yakuza slowly became my favorite game series with the storytelling and wacky missions. Can't wait to pick this up.
